"I moved to Stockbridge in September 2011, which was my 3rd move in 9 months due to the loss of my job.  When I got here I contacted Camel Moving about unloading my truck, but unfortunately, they were already booked.  I knew from that one conversation with Crockett that this was a person who truly cared about his clients and I resolved that if I had to do this again, I would call Camel Moving first.
 
June 2012 and I am moving again to Cleveland Ohio.  My first call was to Camel Moving, and despite this being the busiest season of the year, Crockett got right back to me and showed up quickly to take a look and talk about what I needed.  We arranged for them to do all the packing for the move, and since they do not go to Cleveland, he recommended a great long distance mover to get me there.
 
Crockett showed up with his team of 4 and spent about 8 hours packing me – and that was at the end of long days with other clients.  His team is personable, bright and of course, hard-working – which is a testament to the kind of person he is.  I have packed myself for the other moves, and this was a tremendous help and load off me.
 
Professional, knowledgeable, honest and also fun to be around.  It could not be any better.  This is a company you can trust and they treat all your belongings with the utmost respect.  The final thing that sealed the deal was that Crockett travels with Belle, his geriatric dog who is treated like a queen.  I know that anyone who treats their dog so well is okay by me.

“Some of life's most wrenching, anxiety-provoking, high-stakes moments are accompanied by the changing of homes and the moving of stuff. Even when we think that we are transitioning onto bigger and better, truck day, for most people, is hardly the pleasant part.

I have moved three times since 2007 and I have used Camel Moving & Storage every time. I currently store the lion's share of my former life with the Camels. I challenge anyone to find the peace and confidence that I experienced around these moves—unless they, too, have discovered Camel.

For me, truck day has become the secure, stable, solid and reliable piece in an otherwise chaotic world. I may still not look forward to moving time, but I have come to regard moving day as a done deal. Calling the moving company, in the Camel case, is not the source of transition-stress; it's the antidote.

Am I exaggerating? No: It is moving moments themselves exaggerate. All the intensities of identity, attachment, wealth, health and household get thrown into high voltage during a move. But Crockett McGarrity knows so—he taught me so—and he and his committed crew therefore do everything conceivable to alchemize concern into comfort on moving day.

Crockett's communication before, during and after the move explicitly demonstrate his understanding that a move is part of a larger trajectory: A box full of outgrown toddler toys is worth no less than a Ming vase once it's lifted out of a bedroom.

Everything is meaningful to Crockett. To him and his crew, moving people isn't a service; it is service— community service, psychological service, spiritual service. I will move again—sooner rather than later. When I do, I will devote my time and mental energy to identifying and nurturing whatever parts of life remain when all the stuff is gone.

I still do not quite know the meaning of those non-material real-life parts are, but I do know this: Each fragile part of my life will be in Camel's hands. I won't worry about any of them. That which is handled by Camel remains whole. And so, therefore, does the person Camel serves.”

We had Camel Mover twice for big moves and once to move a piano. Crocket runs the outfit with a great crew. They packed carefully, moved efficiently, placed things where we wanted them and helped unpack while entertaining us with their good humor and amazing us with their strength and work ethic.
Plus, he charged a reasonable price.  We grew to like this man and his crew and recommend them without reservation.  If we ever move from our retirement home, we will call on Camel Movers again.
